Simona Duque (they/she), LMSW, is a queer, nonbinary, and Colombian American psychotherapist specializing in gender, sexuality, and psychedelics. They are committed to providing trauma-informed and anti-oppressive care, which includes engaging in ongoing radical cultural humility. Simona’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, collaborative, and holistic. Believing in the power of a trusting therapeutic alliance, they aim to create a warm, compassionate, and affirming container where clients feel seen in their authentic selves. Simona’s practice is informed by harm reduction, liberation-based, decolonial, and sex-positive frameworks. Their background in community herbalism, nightlife, contemplative practice, and creative expression, offers rich experiential knowledge that shapes their integrative approach as a therapist. Simona specializes in working with queer, transgender, and gender expansive adults, sexual trauma, and non-ordinary states of consciousness (NOSCs) including spirituality, mindfulness, and psychedelics. In addition to the populations listed below, they also have experience working with sex workers, non-traditional relationship structures, and artists. Healing isn't linear. Self-compassion and attunement with one’s inner wisdom is ongoing, especially in a relentlessly painful and uncertain world. Simona is honored to support their clients along this windy, bumpy, yet exquisite path of remembering and reconnecting, towards healing and transformation. Simona holds a M.S.W. from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, a B.A. in Critical Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Humboldt State University, and completed the Sacred Vibes Apothecary Spiritual Herbalism Apprenticeship program. Simona has postgraduate training in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Psychedelic Integration and Harm Reduction (PHRI).
